PFLAG's L.A. Gala & Nipper's D.C. Speech
Now playing ... week of Oct. 11, 2010
Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays hosts its first star-studded Hollywood celebration of support, where correspondent Linda Birch parties with "Glee" star Jane Lynch and creator/executive producer Ryan Murphy, "The Kids Are All Right" writer/director Lisa Cholodenko, PFLAG Executive Director Jody Huckaby and National President John Cepeck, "Modern Family" stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, and other guests.
Progressives preach unity at the One Nation Working Together For Jobs, Justice and Education for All rally in Washington, D.C. But even as National Gay & Lesbian Task Force Deputy Executive Director Darlene Nipper speaks in front of the Lincoln Memorial, some LGBT activists there feel less than welcomed.
And in NewsWrap: Baja lawmakers reject Mexico City marriage equality, Russian courts reportedly issue two pro-LGBT rulings, Mormon leader's "impure" rant draws ringing protests, "It Gets Better" outgrows YouTube, an Italian singer pops out ... plus late-breaking bulletins about violent anti-gay protests at Belgrade Pride, and multiple arrests for horrific New York City gay-bashing gang assaults ... and more news reported by Michael LeBeau and Tanya Kane-Parry.
