Equality By Ballot!

With the High Court’s final stamp of approval, Australia’s postal marriage equality plebiscite is underway — Anne Twomey, Shelley Argent, Anna Brown, Bill Shorten, Malcolm Turnbull, Mathias Corman, Jo Ball, Nick Xenophon, Tiernan Brady, Lyle Shelton, and Mark Poidevin jump into the fray! (Sydney correspondent Barry McKay reports.)

Plus Adelaide singer/songwriter Josh Belperio skewers the idea of a public vote on human rights with Dear Malcolm Turnbull!

And in NewsWrap: Trump’s Justice Department ices Supreme Court anti-queer rights cake, presidential trans ban and DACA denial further rile U.S. activists, a Georgia lesbian’s job bias case re-tests Title VII protections, pioneering lesbian-feminist writer Kate Millett passes "in the twinkling of an eye,” and more international LGBT news reported this week by Michael LeBeau and Tanya Kane-Parry (produced by Steve Pride, written by Greg Gordon).

Older shows are archived at Radio4All (Show them some love!)

This Way Out was funded this week by the Kicking Assets Fund of the Tides Foundation, the Yavanna Foundation, the estate of Christopher David Trentham, and by our generous listeners.
